07.14.05: keep your cell phone charged: reason #8,972

Running late. Agree to meet friends at restaurant. Fly out of work, jet five blocks up to DHL dropoff. Drop off overnight package, decide to grab cab, as am hot and sweaty. Don't want to arrive at restaurant hot and sweaty! Finally find cab. Pull up to block of restaurant. Don't recognize restaurant. Get out anyway. Walk to where restaurant...used to be...and now, clearly, isn't.

Spend next fifteen minutes searching for working payphone to find missing friends. Arrive at new restaurant, hot and sweaty, looking like what cat dragged in. So much for cab vs. sweat expenditure. Greet friends while simultaneously reaching for napkin to mop brow.
